Site work and environmental remediation for a civil project in Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a development; water / sewer project; and for environmental remediation for a development.
This contract includes, but is not limited to, furnishing all materials, equipment, supplies, and labor to implement 2,090 feet of streambank stabilization on the Daniel Miller Stream per the supplied drawings. The restoration/stabilization will utilize a multiple Best Management Practice (BMP) approach, applying natural channel design for the understanding of restoration risk management, and the selection of Best Management Practices as described and presented by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's (PFBC) "Habitat Improvements for Trout Streams", to achieve the long-term stabilization and sediment reductions. Enhancement and management of the existing riparian buffer in floodplain and adjacent wetlands are to be included to complement the restoration efforts. The work product will center around approximately 1.7 acres of buffer established and 2,090 feet of streambank stabilization using techniques such as rock deflectors, mud sills, boulder wall/terrace combination, a cattle crossing, rock cross-vanes, and floodplain benches. Part of a national program managed in Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the implementation of Best Management Practices that restore watersheds with DEP and Environmental Protection Agency-approved Watershed Implementation Plans( WIP). The project is located at 376 Goat Hill Rd Peach Bottom PA 17563, and is owned by Daniel Miller. The goal of this project is to restore approximately 2,090 linear feet of stream stabilization. The project will be funded by a Section 319 NonpointSource Pollution Grant. The 319 funding is part of a national program managed in Pennsylvania by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). All work is bid as LUMP SUM items. A. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials, and supplies necessary to complete the work per the drawing (date Rev. 3 2/9/26). The Project Design and Technical Specifications are intended to cover one contract. The contractor shall, at all times and in all respects, be the party primarily responsible for the performance of work under the contract or any work thereunder. B. The regulatory approved permits are in place for the Daniel Miller project. See attached permits and approved drawings (Rev. 3 2/9/26). Do not use the supplied drawings in the permit dated January 13, 2023. The revised build to drawings are attached separately. C. Materials shall be approved by the inspector prior to use. D. The contractor shall be responsible for locating and protecting all utilities. E. DTU is acting as the Project Sponsor. Award of a contract shall be made on the earliest possible date from the bid opening date. In the event no satisfactory bids are received, all bidders shall be so notified within a 24-hour period.
