The Western Section Highway Department Fuel Center - Design Build Project is generally described as a fuel center upgrade at the Western Section Highway Department in Big Pool, Maryland. The scope of work involves removing the existing fuel center and installing a combination diesel and gasoline fuel center at the Western Section Highway facility. The existing underground diesel storage tanks are old style steel tanks under impressed current cathodic protection and shall be removed under this scope of work. The addition of new above ground gasoline and diesel tanks will provide 24-hour 7 days a week access for all county vehicles including Sheriff's Office and Board of Education vehicles operating in the western part of the county. The project includes modernizing the existing fuel system, sizing and installation of new above ground diesel and gasoline tanks, addition of a new dispenser/canopy island, installation of underground and above ground fuel piping, adding controlled access with a motorized entrance gate, and an integrated software system to match existing fuel systems used elsewhere in County government. This will provide connectivity to the Central Section Highway shop software tracking system for billing and data collection..
