UES Project No. 3330.2400195.0000 Scope of Work: None SITE INFORMATION Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB) is a publicly owned, public-use airport located 1 mile northwest of Vero Beach in Indian River County, Florida. The airport is located at latitude 27o 39' 20" N and longitude 80o 25' 04.6" W. The airport is located on 1,707 AC. The City of Vero Beach owns and operates VRB, which serves the aviation needs of the city and surrounding areas. VRB is classified by the FAA in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) with an Asset Category of "Regional" and Service Level of "General Aviation". VRB is a tower-controlled facility with an FAR Part 139 Operating certificate. VRB has three runways and an extensive taxiway system. Runway 4-22 is 100' wide and 4,974' long. Runway 12L-30R is 75' wide and 3,504' long. Runway 12R-30L is 100' wide and 7,314' long. iii.PROJECT DESCRIPTION This project will extend Taxiway B approximately 800' to the northeast, connecting the taxiway to and extending it beyond the existing Runway 12L-30R. The project will also extend Taxiway "E" from Runway 4-22 to the extended Taxiway B. Both taxiway extensions will include airfield lighting, airfield signage, and pavement markings. Drainage improvements, including new culverts and stormwater ponds, will also be made. The taxiway extensions and connections will improve operations. Anticipated benefits include minimizing runway crossings and improving taxiway efficiency and airfield circulation. Aircraft will be able to exit the runway quicker, which will in turn increase the runway capacity. The project is consistent with the adopted and latest FAA approved Airport Layout Plan. It is the first stage of planned extension of Taxiway B to the 22 End of Runway 4-22, ultimately making Taxiway B a full-length parallel taxiway. Instructions to bidders: None.
