Major components of the Work include: Replacement of existing submersible pump for wastewater conveyance to an existing wetwell. Addition of a wetwell-mounted channel grinder to an existing wetwell. Modifications to an existing valve vault for installation of bypass pumping piping and valves. Electrical, controls, and wiring associated with proposed equipment. Cleaning of wastewater structures. Coating systems for wastewater facilities. Temporary bypass pumping and piping to facilitate construction. Site restoration. Minimum Contractor Qualifications for General Contractors: The Bidder, as a company, shall have experience as a general contractor in the successful construction of at least two mechanical municipal wastewater treatment plants or wastewater conveyance projects within 5 years prior to the bid opening date. At least one of these projects shall have a minimum construction contract amount of $500,000. Submitted bids that do not meet the above minimum contractor qualifications will be cause for rejection. Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. A Contractor responding to these Bidding Documents must submit to the City/Owner a signed statement under oath by an owner or officer verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria in Minnesota Statutes, section 16C.285, subdivision 3. This Work shall be subject to minimum wages and labor standards in accordance with Minnesota Labor and Wage Rate Requirements. The City of Keewatin reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the City.
