The project consists of the partial demolition, renovation, and addition to an existing public-school facility. The work includes selective demolition of existing building and site elements; extensive interior renovations to classrooms, administrative areas, gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, and support spaces; construction of a new multi-story building addition integrated with the existing structure; complete roof replacement; and comprehensive upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems. The project also includes elevator modernization to provide full building accessibility, exterior masonry restoration and new construction to match historic materials, and site improvements such as grading, utilities, sidewalks, parking, playground areas, and landscaping. Bids are to be submitted virtually. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of Base Bid(s) shall accompany each Proposal. All Contractors bidding on Work in excess of $50,000.00 must be bondable and must include in their Proposal the cost for furnishing a Performance Bond and Payment Bond listing Traverse City Area Public Schools as Obligee. All Bids submitted shall remain valid for a period of sixty (60) consecutive calendar days after the Bid Date. The Owner and Construction Manager reserve the right to waive any irregularities, reject any or all Bids, or accept any Bid which, in its opinion, will best serve its interests.
