The project scope consists of manufacturing one (1) replacement triple reduction HLD helical speed reducer ("Gear Box") for Owner's installation in an existing facility, without modification of the driver or any other existing components of the facility. The supplied gear box shall include all components necessary for the Owner to perform a complete and operable installation. The gear box furnished under this project shall be a direct drop-in replacement for the original Foote-Jones 1703-HLD Gear Box. The design of a replacement gear box shall result in performance that is equal to or exceeds that of the original gear box(es) as installed and operated under typical conditions for the facility. The gear box shall be designed for continuous operation. The gear box shall be of quality design, workmanship, and material. The Manufacturer represents that all equipment offered under this specification shall be new. Used, shopworn, or demonstrator models or components shall not be accepted
