The Work includes the installation of approximately 1,695 linear feet of 8" ductile iron water main, with approximately 100 linear feet of 6" ductile iron lateral mains, 400 linear feet of 1" copper service connections and installation of 4 fire hydrants on Monatiquot Avenue as indicated on the Contract Drawings. Temporary Bypass Systems will be required during construction. The goals for this project are a minimum of five percent (5%) D/MBE participation or D/WBE participation or any combination of the two. All DBEs shall be certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the provisions certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO). Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, in accordance with Section 00 21 13, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The selected contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the full amount (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00 72 13, GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids and to limit the extent of the work to stay within the limits of available funds.
