Site work and paving for a road / highway in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The project involves road milling and the delivery and placement of Superpave Warm Mix Asphalt Wearing Course, 9.5 mm mix, with a 2-inch compacted depth (full width – estimated at 3,626 square yards), including 4” depth base repair, leveling course, and traffic control. The Borough will pay for the asphalt materials directly from the asphalt plant of its choosing through Pennsylvania’s COSTARS program. Bidders must submit a Certified Check or Bid Bond equal to ten percent of the bid amount as security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a one hundred percent Performance Bond and a one hundred percent Payment Bond with an eighteen-month warranty within twenty days of the bid award, executed by a surety authorized to conduct business in Pennsylvania. The work is anticipated to be below the thresholds requiring prevailing minimum wage rates under the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Bidders must comply with all State anti-kickback regulations for this work. Malvern Borough reserves the right to refuse any or all bids and to waive any informality in bids received. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Bidders may not withdraw their bid within sixty consecutive calendar days after the bid opening.
