Separate written sealed bids are requested for a General Contract for the furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction of the 2026 Street Overlay and Paving Improvements Project. The project includes, but is not limited to, base repairs, milling, overlaying, and curb & gutter repair on approximately 7.2 miles of existing paved streets, paving of one newly constructed unpaved roadway, and the chip sealing of an existing trail system, along with all other associated work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the plans and contract documents. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and provide a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds, or Performance Bonds must file a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney with each bond. Each bidder must write the Certificate of Responsibility number and Mississippi Contractors License number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing their proposal. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate, sealed, and deposited with the City Clerk prior to the designated hour and date. The City reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities, to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City, or to reject any or all bids. The contract time is ninety consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages being one thousand dollars per calendar day thereafter.
