The project consists of performing the following, including, but not limited to: The City is seeking bids to rehabilitate the existing Influent Channel ahead of the Primary Sedimentation Basins at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The project generally involves moderate to heavy concrete channel rehabilitation and aluminum grating replacement along the primary channel in front of Primary Sedimentation Basins 1 and 2, and all associated work required for a complete installation. The Engineer's estimate is Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00). GENERAL NATURE OF WORK A. The work consists of repair and rehabilitation of deteriorated cast-in-place concrete within a 40-foot section of the existing influent channel at the City of Watsonville's (Owner) Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF). B. The work generally includes: 1. Removal of unsound and deteriorated concrete to sound substrate. 2. Cleaning and preparation of exposed reinforcing steel, where encountered. 3. Placement of structural repair mortar to restore removed areas. 4. Removal of existing steel cover plates and plate support rails within the limits of work and return of plates to the Owner. 5. Furnishing and installation of new aluminum grating and new aluminum grating angle ledger supports in place of removed steel plates and support rails. 6. Furnishing and installation of access hatches within the aluminum grating at slide gate locations, including modifications of grating and supports as required. Existing access lids shall be salvaged and returned to the Owner.
