The project includes furnishing all labor, material, equipment for construction and related improvements for the rehabilitation of drainage pipe segments as shown on the attached exhibits. The repair method can be either cured in place pipe lining or a spray in lining system. Sealed bids will be accepted for the project, and the unit quantities shown in the specifications are approximate. The bid is based on a lump sum price, and the contract sum will only change with an approved change in project scope and change order. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent of the bid made payable to the City of Kennesaw. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a contract performance bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract price and a payment bond equal to one hundred ten percent of the contract price. The bidder must also provide satisfactory proof of carriage of the required insurance. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty days after the actual date of opening. The successful bidder will be notified by the City of acceptance of the bid and must submit an executed contract and Certificate of Insurance before a Notice to Commence can be issued. After receiving the Notice to Commence, the successful bidder shall begin work within thirty days. A lump sum payment will be made upon completion and certification by the Public Works Project Manager. The City of Kennesaw reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to re-advertise, to reject non-conforming bids, or to reopen the bidding if all bids are in excess of available funds for the project.
