The Work includes, but is not limited to, replacement of aeration blowers, aeration diffusers, return activated sludge (RAS) and waste activated sludge (WAS) pumping systems and East primary tanks collector mechanisms and stop gates, headworks channel blowers, and distribution structure gates. The Work also includes construction of new channel and tank compressed air mixing systems, and new post-aeration channels which includes installation of new post-aeration gates, blowers, piping, and valves. The Work also includes removal and replacement of deteriorated concrete walkways at the aeration tanks and channel walls at the primary tanks; removal of existing masonry baffle walls at the aeration tanks; enlarging of openings in concrete walls at the aeration tanks; heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) work; electrical work; site work; yard piping work; miscellaneous piping work; miscellaneous metals work; miscellaneous concrete work; and all other ancillary work required to complete the improvements. All prospective Bidders must be qualified for this specific Work. Before Proposals will be accepted for the work contemplated herein, the Owner will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the prospective prime Bidders and designated subcontractors to perform the size and type of work specified in the Contract Documents. All prospective Bidders must submit qualifications for review and approval by the District. Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing subcontractors are also required to submit qualifications. Prequalification applications will be distributed with the Contract Documents or can be obtained from the District. Bidders who have already submitted prequalification documentation to the District within the current calendar year need not resubmit but must notify the District in writing by the prequalification due date (using the form provided) of their intent to prequalify for this specific work. Bids received from Bidders without prequalification documents on file with the District will not be opened. Bids will not be accepted from contractors that have been debarred or suspended by the Federal government (listed on the federal “Excluded Parties List”). Pre-qualification: Required
