Renovation of a military facility in Wichita, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

The work consists of replacing the existing 80-ton chiller unit serving Building 35 with a new Trane 80-ton chiller utilizing R-134A refrigerant or an approved equivalent. The contractor shall be responsible for the removal and proper disposal of the existing chiller and refrigerant, and installation of the new unit, ensuring it is correctly grounded and fully operational. The scope may require the use of a crane to safely remove and install the chiller. The contractor shall update the Direct Digital Control (DDC) system as necessary to integrate with the new equipment. The existing concrete pad may be reused if the new unit dimensions match; otherwise, the contractor shall expand the pad using reinforced 4000 psi concrete to match the existing thickness and elevation. Electrical systems, including panels and breakers, shall be evaluated and updated as required to meet the new chiller's specifications, utilizing the existing 460V power supply with 500 kcmil conductors. The existing 4-inch water piping shall be reused for the new installation. Additionally, the contractor shall install a 4-inch T-valve to allow connection of a temporary chiller in case of equipment failure or maintenance needs.
