The Housing Authority of the City of Hartford is issuing this Invitation for Bids seeking to contract with one or more vendors for timely, consistent, and cost-effective grounds keeping services ("Grounds Keeping Services") and snow removal services ("Snow Removal Services" and together with the Grounds Keeping Services, the "Services") covering the Authority properties listed in Section 3 in addition to snow and grounds keeping, is seeking to provide, quarterly services (4 times a year) to maintain the retention pond and immediately surrounding area located at 34 and 40 Theodore Napper Lane in Hartford, Connecticut. The Authority may make separate contract awards by group. Award shallbe made by group to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder whose bid conforms in all material respects to the requirements of this IFB. The term of the contract resulting from this solicitation (the "Contract") will be for three (3) years commencing on the date of award. Upon satisfactory completion of the initial term of the Contract, the Authority may extend the term of this Contract for two additional one year terms at its sole option at the prices initially bid by each successful Contractor. The Authority shall provide Contractor with written notice of its intent to extend the Contract at least ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the then current Contract term. Services include: mowing, blowing, shoveling, salting/sanding, and the spreading of ice melting compound on snow packed and/or ice covered areas. The Authority reserves the right to make one award or multiple awards under this IFB, whichever is deemed to be in its best interest. Any obligations of those submitting bids in response to this IFB ("Bidders") continue to be obligations of Contractor(s) when awarded. The Authority reserves the right to verify any and all information provided in each bid. If there is evidence of misleading or false information, the Authority may, in its discretion, reject the Bidder's submittal. Event Site walkthrough Notes : Bidders should conduct site inspections to avail themselves of the general conditions that exist for each of the locations specified in the Scope of Services prior to the date of the pre-bid meeting.. Bidders are responsible for having taken steps reasonably neces sary to ascertain the nature and location of the work, and the general and local conditions which might affect the work or the cost thereof. Failure to inspect will not be grounds to alter Contractor's responsibility to successfully perform the work without additional expense to the Authority
