The Town of Deerfield seeks bids from qualified excavation contractors for the replacement of four existing pipe culverts- two corrugated metal pipes and two reinforced concrete pipes -where Haynes Road crosses Nicholls Brook. The existing culverts- 24", 30", 24", and 18" respectively -are to be replaced with a 12' wide x 4' tall x 40' long precast concrete box culvert embedded with 1 foot of simulated stream bed. All work exceeding One Hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) in total must include a one (1) year performance bond supplied prior to the start of work. The bidder shall recognize that the scope of the project will include: o Compliance with all state and federal regulations. o Responsibility for erosion control and post-construction monitoring as described in the state wetlands permit approval. o All necessary labor, materials, subcontractors, and costs to replace the culverts according to approved plans and as specified herein. o The removal of the existing corrugated culvert. o The installation of all appropriate water diversion and turbidity control measures. o Dredging and filling not to exceed 646 square feet of permanent impact and 714 square feet of temporary impact within the bed and banks of Nicholls Brook necessary for the installation of the concrete box culvert. o Installation of the 14' x 7' x 43' concrete box culvert. o Grading of slopes and all relevant cleanup post installation.
