General description of work: conversion of the former home economics classroom into a cafeteria and warming kitchen with dual serving lines. The project will require related electrical, plumbing, fire/communication, and HVAC modifications. The contract drawings and specifications contain detailed information relating to this contract. Instructions to bidders: - Bidders must use and complete all bid forms and comply with every requirement in the instructions and specifications. - Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to the Board Office, with the project name plainly marked. - Every bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, not exceeding $20,000. - All bidders and subcontractors must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and provide a Certificate issued for Public Works Contractor Registration. - All bids must be accompanied by a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate for the bidder and all subcontractors. - Bidders must comply with The Law Against Discrimination and Affirmative Action requirements. - The contract, if awarded, will go to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements and will be formally adopted by resolution of the Board of Education. - Bidders should be prequalified with DPMC classification C008-General Construction or C009-General Construction/Alteration and Addition. - The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive minor informalities in accordance with the law if it is in the District's best interest.
