The cut-off date and time for receiving questions regarding this bid is 5:00 p.m. PT, on Friday, June 12, 2026. All inquiries must be made in writing and may be submitted to the email address shown below. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive minor irregularities. The City of Redding is requesting bids to provide generator service, load testing, and on-call maintenance for backup standby generators. In order for the Contractor to be considered qualified, the company must possess technical competency in the servicing and load testing of large utility backup generator sets (see Section IV Required Information), and have a service center that is located within a 30-mile radius of the City of Redding. These generators are emergency backup generators for critical facilities in the City of Redding; therefore, a quick response for requested service is mandatory. The cutoff for receiving written questions is 5:00 p.m., PT, Friday, June 12, 2026. Bid Security - Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check drawn on a bank authorized to do business in the State of California, payable at sight to the City of Redding in an amount equal to or not less than ten (10) percent of the contract total. The "Payment Bond" (Material and Labor Bond) shall be for not less than 100 percent of the contract price, to satisfy claims of material suppliers and of mechanics and laborers employed by it on the work. The bond shall be maintained by the Contractor in full force and effect until the Work is accepted by the Agency, and until all claims for materials and labor are paid, and shall otherwise comply with the Civil Code. The "Performance Bond" shall be for 100 percent of the contract price to guarantee faithful performance of all work, within the time prescribed, in a manner satisfactory to the Agency, and that all materials and workmanship will be free from original or developed defects. The contract period shall be from August 1, or date of award, through July 31, 2027. This work will be performed on a firm-fixed price basis for the first year and each year thereafter will be subject to price modification in direct proportion to the change in the Producer Price Index. If mutually agreeable, with all terms and conditions remaining the same, and the price modified in direct proportion to the change in the Producer Price Index, this contract may be renewed for four (4) consecutive one-year periods, through July 31, 2031.
