CLARK COUNTY solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, and Hydraulic Engineering Design and Environmental Permitting for federally funded transportation projects. The scope of work consists of providing select engineering services to support the on-time and on-budget delivery of the NE 179th Street Improvements project, including design/engineering, real property acquisition, and environmental documentation and permitting required to prepare a biddable and constructable set of plans and specifications. The project includes the widening, flattening, and other improvements necessary for a full reconstruction of NE 179th Street between NE 29th Avenue and NE 50th Avenue to a 40-mph design standard, continuing road improvements, connecting to the east end of the existing roundabout at NE 29th Avenue, and constructing a full principal arterial roadway section with four travel lanes, a center left-turn lane or median, and bike and pedestrian facilities on both sides of the road up to NE 50th Avenue. The project also includes the crossing of a tributary of Mill Creek (fish passage structure and walls), alternatives analysis for the crossing, and environmental analysis and reporting. Project design and environmental work shall align with the NE/NW 179th Street Circulation and Access Management Plan strategies for access spacing, multimodal connectivity, and corridor mobility. There is a voluntary 10% SBE goal on this project.
