The work includes installation of a new steel sheet pile retaining wall with a concrete cap along the Charles River in two areas, approximately 75 feet near the clubhouse and 150 feet at the eastern limits. The sheet piles will be installed on the water side of the existing retaining wall, which will remain in place, with the space between filled and compacted with gravel. Additional work includes installation of new wire fencing, removal and reinstallation of exterior electrical lighting and receptacles, and associated site work. The contractor will be responsible for selecting appropriate equipment for installing 16- to 19-foot sheet piles in areas with limited access, as well as disconnecting and reconnecting utilities such as fuel pump systems, water, marine sanitary pumpout, and electrical services. Work will also require adherence to special soil handling, stockpiling procedures, and worker protection measures due to the potential presence of contaminated soils, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals. The anticipated construction duration is approximately four months, with an estimated project value between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
