The District intends to enter into one or more continuing contracts with qualified geotechnical engineering firms to provide professional services. The work includes support for planning, design, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of soil-supported infrastructure and water management projects. Work Orders will be project-specific, issued on an as-needed basis, and authorized under the continuing contract(s) subject to funding availability and monetary limitations per Florida statute. The objective is to obtain geotechnical engineering services such as subsurface investigation, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, construction observation, construction materials testing, and related soil mechanics-based technical services for the District’s projects. The firm will provide geotechnical engineering services in support of planning, design, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of soil-supported infrastructure within the District. All services will remain within the geotechnical engineering discipline. Each Work Order may require the firm to perform services including, but not limited to: - Subsurface exploration and related field services - Interpretation of soil survey maps - Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings - Hollow-stem auger borings - Recovery of thin-walled tube (Shelby) samples - Muck probing and subsurface profiling - Measurement and monitoring of groundwater levels, including installation and monitoring of well screen piezometers and observation wells - Groundwater response monitoring - Field permeability testing by various methods - Soil permeability characterization and subsurface infiltration rate determination from field and laboratory testing - Limited groundwater mounding analyses for interpreting soil hydraulic conductivity and infiltration characteristics - Laboratory testing (soil classification, strength testing, gradation analysis, Atterberg limits, organic content determination, and other customary geotechnical procedures) These services support projects such as levees, pump stations, water control structures, pavement systems, embankments, berms, foundations, and other soil-supported water management infrastructure. Interested and qualified respondents must submit a complete qualifications package in accordance with the requirements and specifications detailed in the solicitation. Submittals must address all elements of the Scope of Work and comply with the terms and conditions set forth. The submittal must include all required documents and forms requested or it may be rejected and deemed non-responsive.
