Reference Number 0000426033 The City of Granite City, Illinois is requesting proposals from qualified purchasers for the sale and redevelopment of a 6,960 sq foot City-Owned commercial building. The City currently owns multiple commercial and mixed -use buildings within the Downtown District in an effort to revitalize and create a dynamic area for entertainment , downtown living and further community impact into the adjacent neighborhoods . Downtown amenities include but not limited to : Granite City Movie Theatre , The Mill Event Center and other governmental operations such as the Library , City Hall and Township Government . The Downtown District also has numerous events and parades creating additional traffic and excitement throughout the year . The Property commonly referred to as the Lascalles Building contains an approximately 3,000 sq ft first floor restaurant space with full kitchen and bar . Second Story space is a fully built -out open concept office unit with an office , conference room and kitchenette . The building isserviced by 1 elevator . Contents of the building to be included in sale or as otherwise negotiated . Building to be sold as-is with the City making no warranties or representations on building condition or contents . The review of Proposals will be conducted by the City to determine the most qualified and strongest Project that meets the economic development goals of the City . Purchase contracts and / or redevelopment agreements will be negotiated following selection and approved by the City .
