Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Sumner, Washington. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Sumner-Bonney Lake School District requests qualifications from General Contractor Construction Managers for the Sumner High School Phase 3 demolition and replacement expansion project using the procurement permitted under Chapter 39.10 of the RCW, as amended, for selected school projects for public works contracting in lieu of sealed bids. This is the final phase of the complete removal and replacement of Sumner High School. The selected GC/CM will coordinate with the Phase 2 GC/CM and the other GC/CMs on related projects concerning WBE/MBE/SBE outreach. Design has not started, but HOA has been hired as architect of record, with design and preconstruction services anticipated to begin August/September 2026. The GC/CM shall provide high quality services including scheduling, phasing, logistics, collaboration, and superior construction services to safely deliver the full scope of program needs, on time and under budget. All submissions must be electronically received by the Director of Capital Projects. The project name, submittal date, and submitting firm's name must appear in the title of the email submission. Submissions not following procedures may be considered non-responsive. Minority and Women Owned Business participation is encouraged. This project consists of phased demolition of the existing structures and phased construction of a new multi-story facility housing art, choir, band, an aquatic facility, a performing arts center, main gym, auxiliary gym, administration, student services, JROTC, student parking, new tennis courts and a new multi-use turf sports field. This new structure is tied into the east side of the existing Phase 1 building. The GC/CM partner needs to be brought on board now to support extensive planning efforts to minimize the impacts to programs while considering student safety in the phasing. The City of Sumner has requirements and requests relating to temporary parking, partial demolition, and stormwater that the GC/CM partner is best positioned to assist with. This is a multi-year, multi-phase construction with complex vehicular and pedestrian circulation constraints.
