Site work and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Germantown, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 7,624-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Project involves the conversion of Bob Hailey Field. Any matter of this bid package that requires explanation or interpretation must be submitted in writing by the Bidder at least three days (excluding weekends and holidays) prior to the time set for the Bid Opening. Email all questions to the Procurement Department at procurement@germantown-tn.gov, nformal inquiries that are informational in nature can be made at any time by calling the Procurement Department at (901) 757-7260. SCOPE This project's work involves, at a minimum, the following requirements: A. Removal and disposal of existing turfgrass based on the square footage and highlighted areas shown in this map. Both infields are a combined 7,624 square feet a. The use of a sod cutter or KORO fraise mower is required for the removal of the turfgrass. b. Removal of the entire rootzone on the infield turfgrass is required and not to exceed the depth of four inches (4"). c. An application of glyphosate or fusillade, or a combination of the two herbicides at the labeled rate is required after removal of turfgrass to kill off any existing roots and prevent future growth. d. All turfgrass and soil will need to be disposed of by the contractor off site. B. Distribute a two-inch (2") base layer of clay in one-inch (1") lifts evenly on the field in the area where the turfgrass was removed. a. Clay shall consist of 60-75% sand, 10-25% clay, and 10-25% silt b. Base layers shall be installed in lifts not exceeding one inch (1") compacted depth c. Compaction of each layer is required with a thirty-six inch (36") double drum roller or equivalent. d. Clay shall be screened to a maximum particle size of three eighths inch (3/8") . e. Finished base shall provide a firm stable foundation for placement of premium red infield mix.. The top layer shall consist of premium red infield mix with a slope of 0.5% - 1% and shall crown from the pitcher's rubber outwards. a. Furnish and install premium red infield mix to match the existing infield mix. b. Final surface shall be laser graded using conical or turtle back design from the pitching rubber outwards. D. Any disturbed areas outside of the scope of work will need to be resodded with northbridge bermudagrass and rolled to match the existing level of turfgrass. E. The city shall provide access to a water spigot to be used during the project. F. Removal of home plate and existing base anchors is required before the removal of the turfgrass and reinstalled with a new home plate and new base anchors provided from the city. a. Home plate is to be reinstalled in its original position b. Four (4) Base anchors will need to be installed at each base at the following distances. i. 50', 60', 70', and 80' is the required distances for first, second, and third base ii. Base anchors will need to be set in concrete. c. Three (3) four way pitching rubbers will be provided by the city and need to be installed at the distances of 35', 40', and 43' Questions Deadline: 6/15/2026 4pm CST .
