Sealed bids are requested for the Avoca West 2026 North Boiler Replacement. Lump sum bid proposals will be received at the specified district administrative office and must be accompanied by a bid guarantee (Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Bank Draft) of at least ten percent of the bid, payable to Avoca School District 37. A performance bond and a labor and material payment bond in the full contract amount are required from the successful bidder. Bids should be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope clearly marked as SEALED BID. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof or waive any irregularities or informalities. The contract is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Each bidder must satisfactorily complete the qualification process described in Section 004395 - General Requirements of the Project Manual by providing the required qualification documents with their sealed bid. The qualification documents will be available for public review and will be examined by the Owner and Architect to determine the lowest responsible bidder. Bidding documents, including drawings and project manuals, can be obtained electronically and reproduced at the bidder's expense from the designated reprographics company. A non-mandatory pre-bid walk-through for general contractors will be held at the Avoca West Elementary School, with subcontractors encouraged to attend. After the pre-bid meeting, site visitation is required to view the work area, gather additional information, and ask questions. There will be only one scheduled walk-through of the site.
