This RFP is seeking Construction Management firms (Proponents) with a successful track record of providing Construction Management services for Forestry Learning Centre, a new 12,70 sqft gateway building for the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest to house Operations, Admin/Research Staff and associated site works. The Forestry Learning Centre project scope will include, but not be limited to, the following: A new 12,170sq ft building for operations, research and multi function space; Extension of City water and sanitary connections from Silver Valley Road; Construction of on site water pump integrated with the main water line coming onto property to ensure the required flow to the building is achieved; Construction of a 700m3 water storage tank for Fire and Life Safety purposes with its own pump to provide water for building fire suppression and forest edge interface fires; Realignment of the road through the entrance area of the forest, as well as relocation of parking to better separate public interface and forestry service vehicles (logging trucks and access to Loon Lake Lodge); Relocation of existing caretakers house; Demolition of existing operations facility once the new Forestry Learning Centre is completed; Relocation of existing weather station; All rain water to be managed on site (no storm water connection); Desire to integrate wood from the forest into the building.
