The project includes replacement of damaged and deteriorating handrail, steel plating, and supporting steel frame. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to Benton Utilities in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. Digital copies of the bid documents are available for a fee. Bidders must ensure they are on the MCE online plan room Plan Holders List and enter addenda numbers in the Proposal to verify receipt. The attention of the Bidder is directed to the applicable federal and state requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract. Benton Utilities encourages all qualified small, minority and women business enterprises to bid and general contractors to subcontract portions of their contract to such enterprises. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject bids, and postpone the award of the Contract for a period not to exceed beyond 90 days from the bid opening date.
