New construction of an educational facility in Buhl, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility.
Sealed proposals will be received by the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education for the Sipsey Valley High School Fieldhouse, Buhl, Alabama. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Tuscaloosa County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, up to $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents will be required at contract signing. Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the office of the Architect or the Construction Manager. Bid documents may be obtained from the Construction Manager upon deposit, refundable under specified conditions. Electronic PDF copies may be procured from the Construction Manager free of charge. Bid bonds must be issued by a licensed bonding company, and guarantee the bid for sixty days after the closing time. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. Bidders exceeding the State Licensing Board limit must be licensed under Alabama law and display their license number on the outside of the envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if in the Owner's judgment the best interests will be promoted. All Bidders are invited to attend a non-mandatory pre-bid conference. Nonresident bidders must accompany bids with a written legal opinion regarding preferences for in-state business entities.
