The Los Angeles City Council approved the Low-Rise Ordinance, enabling increased residential density across 55–57 neighbourhoods near transit corridors throughout Los Angeles, California. The ordinance allows construction of multifamily buildings up to four stories tall with approximately 4 to 16 units in areas previously zoned for single-family or low-density housing. This citywide zoning change is intended to expand housing capacity while delaying full implementation of California Senate Bill 79, which mandates broader transit-oriented upzoning.
