The City of Sedalia is seeking bids from licensed and permitted landfill facilities for a one-year contract to dispose of municipal solid waste, with the possibility of extending the contract for up to three additional one-year periods. The work includes establishing a comprehensive, regulated, and fully accountable system for accepting municipal solid waste, such as household refuse and loose refuse containers. The City generates, on average, 10,000-15,000 tons of compacted trash and 2,000-3,000 tons of loose trash annually. Disposal services must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations. Annual adjustments to disposal rates are allowed based on the Consumer Price Index, with certain restrictions. Additional government-imposed fees, taxes, or surcharges may be passed through upon notification and documentation. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the project information, the bidder’s company name, and the date and time of the bid opening.
