Site work for a mixed-use development in Coachella, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and playground / park / athletic field.

The City of Coachella invites sealed bids for the Avenue 53 Tot Lot and Roundabout Improvements, City Project No. P-29. The work includes the reconstruction of the Avenue 53 Tot Lot area, reconstruction of the Avenue 53 and Calle Empalme intersection with a roundabout, and the removal and replacement of a sewer main between Calle Leandro and Calle Techa. Specific tasks include removal and replacement of site amenities, concrete, landscaping, irrigation, installation of new CMU and metal fencing, electrical and concrete pathway, removal and replacement of concrete curb, gutter, cross gutter, AC pavement, sidewalk, concrete apron, storm drain system, street lighting, slurry seal, and signage. Sewer work includes street trenching, replacement of the 12" sewer main with a 15" PVC main, connections into existing manholes, epoxy coating of three manholes, adjusting manholes to grade, and trench repair. Coordination is required with third-party contractors for the installation of shade structures and playground equipment. Procurement and installation of the Electrical Meter Pedestal and primary IID service conduits must be among the first items of work. The project must be completed within 150 working days from the Notice to Proceed. Instructions to bidders include requirements for a bid security of not less than ten percent of the Total Bid Price, submission of preliminary project schedules and submittals, and ordering long-lead time equipment immediately after Notice of Award. Bidders must be listed through the PlanIT Planroom to receive addendums. Contractors must provide a Faithful Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond each equal to one hundred percent of the Contract Price. Compliance with prevailing wage laws and registration with the Department of Industrial Relations are mandatory. All bids must include proof of contractor and subcontractor registration, and electronic certified payroll records must be submitted to the Labor Commissioner and the City. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined by the City.
