The contractor shall be responsible for the demolition, removal, and disposal of all remaining tank foundation concrete, center pier concrete, concrete filled vault, abandoned water main, and existing site fencing. Concrete demolition work includes the removal of eight concrete pile caps, concrete center pier with concrete filled vault, and a buried concrete retaining wall located directly adjacent and parallel to the fence line on the north side of the tank footprint. The work should also include the removal of all associated rebar and steel reinforcement. Existing timber piles shall remain and be abandoned in place approximately 6 to 8 feet below final grade. The contractor shall remove the existing abandoned 12-inch water main within the tank foundation footprint. Additional demolition includes removal of all site fencing. The contractor shall provide compacted backfill in all areas and perform final site grading and seeding to create a buildable lot. The contractor shall remove a section of retaining wall and any trees required to install a driveway meeting City of Greenville standards. No record drawings or design information for the tank site foundation are available. Estimated quantities include: Concrete Pile Caps (8) - 32 CY; Concrete Center Pier - 25 CY; Concrete Filled Vault - 42 CY; Buried Retaining Wall (100 LF) - 10 CY; Timber Piles - 75 each; Site Fencing - 350 LF. Instructions to bidders include bid submission to the Office of the Procurement Manager for Greenville Utilities Commission, and that late bids will not be considered. The Greenville Utilities Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The existing tank foundation site is located at the corner of S Jarvis St. and E 1 st St. in Greenville, NC.
