Description

Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Novato, California. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) seeks sealed bids from qualified and experienced contractors to repair four existing reinforced concrete box (RCB) culverts at two locations, which are failing at the ends due to settlement issues. The work includes installing a rebar cage inside each RCB, installing a High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) culvert through each box, then forming and pouring mortar to completely fill the RCBs. There are no environmental permits required for this work, but standard best management practices are required for the mortar work. Access to the project site is available through the St. Vincent property, across the tracks at a signalized crossing, and on an existing farm road that SMART has an easement on. The St. Vincent access road is private, narrow, and has a low speed limit.
