Improvements to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) stormwater pump station, located within the Charleston Peninsula medical district, to enhance drainage capacity and system resilience. Work includes increasing pumping and discharge piping capacity; reconfiguring hydraulics within the wet well and inflow chamber; enclosing and conditioning the control room; elevating critical electrical and HVAC components above the design flood elevation; upgrading electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, security, and lighting; constructing a new transformer pad with higher-capacity transformer; replacing wet well inflow pipes to correct slope; providing structural supports for piping and the transformer pad; installing a permanent bypass connection; replacing the chain link gate; and performing minor grading and landscaping. The project also includes installation of temporary pumps and piping to maintain continuous operation of the pump station during construction.
