Site work for a civil project in Baltimore, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The project involves stabilizing, rehabilitating, and providing emergency backup for the entire Potomac Interceptor pipeline system. The construction scope includes pipeline rehabilitation on 30 to 96 sanitary sewer interceptors and appurtenances, rapid emergency preparedness and response, bypass pumping (40 mgd to 150 mgd over distances greater than 1 mile), construction of temporary and permanent concrete access chambers, rehabilitation of reinforced concrete pipes and tunnels using technologies such as geopolymer lining, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP), slip lining, and spiral wound lining. The scope also includes construction of new sewer pipelines across the Potomac River using open cut or tunnel to create an inverted siphon, pipeline armoring at culvert and stream crossings, clearing and constructing/removing temporary access roads in challenging terrain, and maintaining the ability to quickly mobilize for emergency situations. Contractors must be pre-qualified and able to support ongoing and emergency needs as part of a multi-year program. Trade opportunities include pipe rehabilitation and relining, water and sewer construction, pumping services, excavation and dirt work, concrete work, tunneling, erosion control and riprap, tree removal and clearing, emergency response, engineering, and inspection. The scope may evolve to include unanticipated or emergency rehabilitation work requiring immediate response.
