Englewood Schools - Arapahoe County School District #1 is seeking proposals from qualified mechanical contractors for the refurbishment and repair of an existing cooling tower at the Englewood Campus. The project involves a comprehensive overhaul of one (1) BAC Model 15385 Cooling Tower (S/N U135117401-01). The scope includes the removal of internal fill and basins, surface preparation and grinding of the cold water basin, application of a cooling tower grade liner, and the installation of new high-efficiency fill media and hot water basins. A crucial component of this project is the precision application of the liner and the successful return of the unit to service for campus operations. The selected contractor will be responsible for the following: Permits and Fees: Obtaining all necessary permits and paying associated fees. Safety Protocols: Perform full lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures prior to work. Demolition & Removal: Remove existing fill media, hangers, supports, hot water basins, and nozzles. Waste Management: Dispose of all old materials in a contractor-supplied dumpster (Sys-Kool or equivalent). Component Retention: Carefully remove, store, and reinstall existing screens and louvers. Surface Preparation: Clean, prep, and grind the cold water basin and interior side walls at all water-touch areas. Steel Repair: Apply patch steel as needed to approximately 3-4 small identified areas. Liner Installation: Apply a cooling tower-grade liner to all prepped interior surfaces. New Installation: Furnish and install new bottom-supported fill media and a new hot-water basin, equipped with heavy-duty covers and new nozzles. System Restoration: Remove locks and return the cooling tower to the owner in ready-to-run condition for startup. Inclusive Pricing: All pricing must include labor, supervision, tools, materials, and warranty for the work performed.
