DEPARTMENT: Chicago Department of Transportation TYPE: Construction The Bidder must complete and submit an Electronic Bid prior to the bid due date. The City's system will not accept electronic bids after the due date and time. Bidders must register for a log-in account to submit an electronic bid, allowing up to three business days for account creation. Paper bids will not be accepted. Bid Bond: Bids requiring a bid deposit must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, provided by a surety company authorized to do business in the United States, and made payable to the City of Chicago. A scanned copy of the bid bond must be attached to the online bid submission, with the original bond to be received by DPS within 3 business days of the bid opening. This is required of all bidders, not just the apparent low bidder. Any late Bids received after announced date and time will not be accepted. The work for which proposals are invited consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment required to make improvements to existing or to install new traffic signal equipment at various locations within the City of Chicago. Types of improvements may include but are not limited to new signal installations, traffic signal modernizations, turn arrow installations, LED and pedestrian countdown signal installations, and accessible signal installations. This includes but is not limited to removal and replacement of traffic signals, street lighting, concrete foundations, traffic signal controllers, street lighting controllers, electrical conduit, video system detection cameras and processors; pavement resurfacing, removal, and replacement of pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter; removal and replacement of pavement markings and signage, as described in the detail specifications, including all appurtenant work and accessories, to the complete satisfaction of, approval and acceptance by the City.
