The project generally consists of 3,350 linear feet of 16-inch PVC forcemain and lift station improvements, including pump replacements and supporting site work. The scope of work includes all general construction, mechanical installation, labor, materials, permits, licenses, insurance, bonds, and other incidental items required for the construction of the proposed project. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the title of the project and the bidder's name and address, using the bid forms identified in the contract documents and specifications. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond in an amount of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Performance and payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required at contract execution, and a maintenance bond equal to twenty percent (20%) of the final contract price shall be provided at project completion, effective for three years after final payment or until completion of the correction period, whichever is later. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, accept any bid or combination of bids, and waive informalities. Award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder. Bids must be properly executed and include all information requested, including a financial statement as specified. Each bidder is responsible for inspecting the project site(s) and thoroughly familiarizing themselves with the contract documents and specifications. The work shall be substantially completed within 150 calendar days and fully completed within 180 calendar days after the contract times commence to run. Liquidated damages of $1,000 per day apply for late completion.
