The work consists of providing Asbestos/Lead Abatement at various county facilities for the Nassau County Department of Public Works, specifically requiring contractors to be responsive to emergency Asbestos/Lead conditions that require immediate response. The contract also requires participation in registered and approved apprenticeship training programs relevant to the type and scope of work to be performed, such as Asbestos/Lead Abatement Worker or similar trades. Instructions to bidders include: - Examination and purchase of official Bid Contract Documents at the Permit Office. Only official purchased documents are accepted for bidding. - Submission of a non-refundable fee of $300 per set of Bid Contract Documents and an additional $30 fee for mail requests. - Registration with the County is required to submit bids or proposals. - Submission of a MWBE Utilization Plan with the proposal, with targets of 15% MWBE and 2% SDVOB participation. - Submission of a completed Appendix C: Offeror’s Affirmation regarding State Finance Law § 139-j. - Providing a separate sealed list of subcontractors with the bid if applicable. - All bidders and subcontractors must be registered with the NYS Department of Labor. - Security for bid is required; failure to provide this or other required documentation may render the bid non-responsive and not accepted.
