Site work and paving for a road / highway in Charlottesville, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The 2019 North Grounds Athletics Plan recommended a road connection from Copeley Road to the Millmont Road/ Arlington Boulevard intersection, to relieve congestion during peak commute times and for patrons exiting after large JPJ Arena events. A subsequent traffic study performed as part of the North Grounds Parking Garage project lent further support to the benefits of this connector road to relieve congestion and to support UTS route efficiencies. In 2025, a study was engaged and concept designs were developed with associated project costs. As of June 10, 2026, further information regarding a design firm has not yet been established. Design work is is expected from June of 2026-December of 2026. A timeline for construction has not yet been established.
