Planning and design for the Core Lab renovations will leverage space vacated following the relocation of Clinical Laboratory services to Town Center IV at North Fork. This transition creates a strategic opportunity to reassess and reorganize functional space within the Core Lab building to better align with current and future operational needs. The project will focus on optimizing laboratory workflows, accommodating new and expanded equipment, including automated testing lines and addressing aging infrastructure. Building systems will be evaluated to identify required replacements or upgrades to support long term reliability, compliance, and efficiency. The planning effort will also develop phased construction strategies to ensure continuity of laboratory operations during renovations while maintaining safe and functional service levels throughout the construction period. As of June 10, 2026, further information regarding a design firm has not yet been established. Design work is is expected from the summer to fall of 2026.
