Sealed proposals will be received only from qualified general contractors for the Bob Harrison Center Pickleball project for Madison County Commission in Huntsville, Alabama. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the Alabama Community College Systems in an amount not less than five percent of the bid (not to exceed $10,000) must accompany the bid. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds, and insurance in compliance with requirements, will be required upon signing the contract. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of the architect, and bid documents will be sent to general contractors electronically with no deposit. Subcontractors should obtain documents from a general contractor or plan room. Only general contractors properly licensed under Alabama state law will be considered. Bids from general contractors who do not attend the pre-bid conference will be rejected. The project will be bid excluding taxes and requires specific sales tax forms to be submitted with the proposal. Both tax exempt entity and contractor must apply for certificates of exemption if awarded. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive technical errors, or abandon the bid process if it benefits the owner.
