Sealed bids are requested for public work defined as all work, construction, alteration, repair, or improvement other than ordinary maintenance. A 5% bid bond is required with the submittal, in the form of a surety bond, postal money order, cashier's check, or certified check, equaling five percent of the proposed bid amount. A 100% performance bond and payment bond will be required of the successful bidder. If the successful bidder fails to furnish this bond within ten days after notice of bid award, the five percent bid bond will be forfeited, and the contract awarded to the next lowest and best bidder. Within ten days of notice of award, the successful bidder and the County must fully execute all necessary contractual documents.
