The project consists of the installation of Type II slurry seals and asphalt rubber cape seals at various residential areas throughout the city. It also involves the removal and installation of striping and marking at various locations throughout Yuba City. For a more detailed description of the project scope, refer to the project plans. Bidders and their proposed subcontractors must hold such licenses as may be required by the laws of the State of California for the performance of the work specified in the contract documents. Bidders bidding as the prime contractor must possess either a valid Class A contractor’s license, or a combination of classes at the time the bid is submitted and throughout the contract term. Contractors must ensure that all subcontractors working on this project are holding valid licenses suitable for their trade. The project is subject to the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the State of California Director of Industrial Relations, and travel and subsistence pay as defined in applicable collective bargaining agreements. The contractor and its subcontractors must employ the appropriate number of apprentices in each apprentice-able craft on the project site, as stipulated in California Labor Code Section 1777.5. The project is also subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal or awarded a contract for public work unless registered with the State of California Director of Industrial Relations, and must maintain active registration for the duration of the project. Sealed proposals must be delivered to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall in Yuba City, where they will be publicly opened and read aloud for construction in accordance with the specifications.
