Reference Number 0000427400 The facility has a Main Assembly Room that is approximately 2,200 square feet and has a capacity to comfortably seat 200 individuals. This space serves multiple purposes including as a cafeteria for ETHRA meals five days a week, a Bingo "Hall," a venue for Health Education Presentations and a Choir room. Programs are presented on a wall-mounted television. Daily attendance at the Senior Center averages 60 people with special events attracting 80 to 125 seniors several times a month. Sounds from presentations, group and individual activities and conversations, the HVAC system and kitchen and janitorial activities create varying noise levels. The Main Assembly Room has high ceilings averaging 14' with exposed structure of concrete or steel deck. Surface areas have finishes of vinyl floor, drywall and glass. The room currently does not have noise absorption. Noise reverberates throughout the room and carries into other areas of the facility. These acoustics hinder the ability to hear conversations, presentations and music. Anderson County seeks quotes for the purchase and installation of sound absorption materials to lower Reverberation Time. The acoustic design shall include treatment on the ceiling and a modest amount of treatment on the walls to minimize lateral reflections which can be perceived as "flutter echo." The solution shall achieve a target Reverberation Time (RT) of 0.8 seconds, with a maximum target not to exceed RT 1.3 seconds. The project will employ a solution at the ceiling level that includes Deck Hanging Kits, as well as installation of wall panels. While aesthetics is not the primary goal of the acoustical project, Anderson County will choose colors, textures and shapes of the acoustical materials that will improve the visual environment and remove the current "institutional" look. Installation timeline is within 3 - 4 months.
