The Hearst Center expansion/new building project was re-initiated in 2018. Through work with a visioning committee (2018), a programing funding review 2021-22), and then development of a Master Plan (2023), this project: an expansion & renovation of the current facility. A fundraigin feasibility study was completed in 2024, with the Friends of the Hearst and Art & Culture Board voting to proceed with a fundraising campaign. A campaign started in mid-August 2025. The goal is to start construction on a new facility in early 2028. The project is included in the City's 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
