Roadway Widening The scope of work is to supply all labor, materials, and equipment to excavate along both sides of the existing roadway to subgrade elevation, (including removal and disposal of all materials), grading, and compaction of a suitable subgrade prior to placement of the roadway subbase. All work shall be in accordance with Sections 201, 203, 206, and 210 of PennDOT Publication 408 and the following: All Roadway Widening areas shall include clearing and grubbing, which shall be incidental to the per Square Yard price. Contractor shall control the subgrade elevations and depths to ensure the widened areas will be flush to the adjoining pavements and will accommodate the roadway cross-slope. The depth of excavation for roadway widening shall be set using the existing pavements on each side, prior to the removal during regrading the subgrade. This item of work is to be paid by the Square Yard. Sealed proposals are requested for the '2025 Bituminous Paving Project' in Lausanne Township, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. The work includes: 602 tons Superpave Leveling Course (19 mm), 4,602 square yards Superpave Base Course (25 mm at 3" depth), 2,510 square yards Superpave Binder Course (19 mm at 2.5" depth), 14,350 square yards Superpave Wearing Course (9.5 mm at 1.5" depth), 1,068 tons Type 2A Aggregate Subbase (4"), 4,980 square yards of regrading subgrade, and 181 square yards of roadway widening. All materials must comply with PennDOT Pub. 408 Specifications and Standards. Bidders must be PennDOT prequalified. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided, delivered by United States Postal Service unless other arrangements are made. Bids must be marked appropriately, accompanied by a certified check or bid bond for 10% of the bid, and the successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of the contract price within twenty days of award. PA Prevailing Wages apply to contracts over $100,000. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals or portions thereof, delete projects as needed, and waive technicalities in the Township's best interest.
