Renovation of a military facility in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
Closing Time: 2:30 PM NT ** Please note that there has been 1 addendum issued for this project. ** WORK COVERED BY PROJECT DOCUMENTS .1 Work of this Project comprises of Renovations to 600 Bungalow Residential Housing Units Exterior at Canadian Forces Base 5 Wing, Happy Valley - Goose Bay Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). The work shall include, but is not limited to, the supply and installation of all products, services, labour, materials, and equipment required to complete the project. .2 The work under this project includes, but is not necessarily limited to the total performance of the Work (plant, labour, materials, and equipment), to the description and intent of this specification and the following: .1 Demolition of existing exterior building features as noted on Architectural, Structural Mechanical and Electrical Drawings and Specifications. .2 Removal of all abandoned phone/TV and telecom cables. .3 Removal of exterior cladding components to expose board sheathing, visual inspection to occur. Replacement of board sheathing encountered. .4 Provision and installation of new vinyl siding and upgrade insulation value for walls. .5 Provision and replacement of all exterior entrance doors including new hardware. .6 Provision and replacement of all existing exterior windows with new vinyl hung windows. .7 Provision and extension of canopy roof and windbreaks on front entrance including new reinforced concrete pads and concrete walkways. .8 Provision and replacement of asphalt roof shingles with new asphalt shingles and roof vents along with rain gutters and downspout. .9 Provision and replacement of all exterior electrical devices such as; light fixtures, receptacles, door bell pushbutton, etc. .10 Relocation of active lines/satellite dishes. .11 Provision of branch wiring for new devices. .12 Removal and reinstallation of new masts and weather heads for Power Service Entrance and Telecom. .13 Provision of new service conductors. .14 Provision and replacement of all exterior mechanical devices, hose bibs, dryer exhaust hoods, range exhaust hood c/w 230mm tail piece, backdraft damper and anti-gust capabilities, white metal. .15 Provisions of wood patio framing with railings, stairs and decking on reinforced concrete foundations. .16 Upon award, but prior to the start of work, the Contractor should perform a site visit and meet with DCC Representative to help create Work Plan and to determine the general requirements listed within this specification. The Contractor will use professional opinion to determine the most effective Methodology for completing the Work. The Contractor will be responsible for confirming or outlining the details within this Work Plan, which is to be submitted to and reviewed by DCC Representative and will accommodate the operational requirements and temporary set-ups in other locations of the work forces operating within the building. .17 The Contractor shall provide a detailed schedule/ GANTT/timeline to the DCC Representative for review prior to starting the work, and coordinate schedule with DCC Representative during the Work. The Contractor shall submit to the DCC Representative for approval of progress schedule, which shall be updated on a bi-weekly basis for the duration of the work. .19 Work performed by the Contractor will be comprised of the provision of all labour, material and equipment required to complete the installation work, in accordance with the specifications and drawings for this project. .20 The Contractor shall be responsible for acquiring the necessary access and lifting equipment such as lifts, cranes to be operated by a licensed operator. Scaffolding shall be approved by a licensed engineer in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. .21 The Contractor shall be responsible for making arrangements with, and obtaining permits from, authorities having jurisdiction for disposal of waste and debris. Copies of manifests and disposal records will be submitted to the DCC Representative. .22 The Contractor is responsible for the compliance of their own forces and of their subcontractors with the Requirements outlined within the Specification. .23 All work performed by the Contractor and Sub-Contractors shall be in accordance with the applicable federal and provincial codes and regulations, standards, specifications, and drawings. .24 The Contractor shall provide all temporary facilities and utilities needed to ensure that occupied areas are safely accessible and supplied with utilities. .25 The Contractor shall coordinate with the Platoon Chief at the Fire Hall for a Fire Hall briefing of all staff prior to the start of work. .26 Contractor shall maintain emergency vehicle access. .3 Contractor to carry out works in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
