Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Richmond, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for the construction of a transportation facility.
The GRTC Pulse North-South Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will create a high frequency transit connection between Northside, Downtown, and Southside Richmond through a 12 mile corridor featuring 30 stations. Implemented in three phases, the project will connect riders to major employment centers, healthcare, education, housing, and community destinations across the region. The proposed corridor will travel from Azalea Avenue and Chamberlayne Avenue in North Richmond through Downtown via Leigh Street and 8th/9th Streets before continuing south along Commerce Road, Hull Street, Belt Boulevard, and Midlothian Turnpike. TIMELINE: As of October 5, 2026, this project is in the planning, design and environmental review phase. Design work is expected to start this year and last through 2028, when construction is expected to begin.
