This Project consists of the structural stabilization and reinforcement of a damaged roof truss system at Fire Station No. 72. The scope of work includes providing temporary shoring to stabilize the existing broken truss during construction, furnishing and installing a new 5-1/8" x 24" engineered glulam (GLB) support beam beneath the damaged truss in accordance with the approved plans, and installing 6x6 end support posts with Simpson Strong-Tie caps, bases, and anchors. Additional reinforcement includes the installation of multiple 6x6 king posts above and below support beams to strengthen truss connections, as well as the installation of 4x6 and 6x6 support posts within the existing wall framing per the approved plans. Work also includes localized demolition and repair of drywall and ceiling finishes as required to accommodate the new structural elements, additional support at gable and hip trusses including new 5-1/4" x 11-7/8" support beams, cantilever beam installation, and re-leveling of deflected trusses. Upon completion of the structural work, the contractor shall furnish and install a new suspended T-bar ceiling system and relocate existing light fixtures to match their original spacing and layout. All existing ductwork, ceiling diffusers, and return air grilles disturbed by the work shall be reinstalled in their original locations and configuration. Final placement and installation of all ceiling components, lighting, plumbing, and mechanical systems shall be field verified with the Architect of Record.
