Renovation of a medical facility in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This project will install a new air handling unit (AHU) on the roof of 200 Medical Plaza (MP200) to serve the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) on Level 6. The project will decouple Air Handling Unit 9 (AHU-9), which currently serves the top four floors of the north half of MP200 and the existing SPD, including its administrative offices, and install a new AHU dedicated to serving the SPD, an associated decontamination room, and adjacent support areas. The scope of work includes demolition of improvements interfering with the proposed work; modification of existing roof equipment curbs and pads, electrical and mechanical systems; provision of new air handling and standalone chiller equipment, exhaust fans, sound traps, variable frequency drives, ductwork, piping, valves, and anchoring; testing and balancing; and repairs to the building and roof finishes impacted by the work. Pre-qualification requirements: To be allowed to submit a bid, Bidders must have the minimum experience set forth in the Prequalification Questionnaire contained in the Bidding Documents and posted on the UCLA Online Planroom website. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B License (General Building). Bidder's completed Prequalification Questionnaire must be received at the University Contracts Administration office in a sealed envelope, or uploaded to the UCLA Online Planroom website, no later than 3:00 p.m., June 30, 2026. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBEs) with the maximum opportunity to participate.
